About the Artist
Kelsey Evans-Layng focuses her love and knowledge of wildlife into her work to create large scale ceramic portraits of the World's amazing animals. Working in multiple mediums from small metal work to painting, her preferred and main medium is ceramic. Using hand building techniques each piece is textured in loving detail to capture the character of the animal. Many of her artistic subjects are critically endangered or misunderstood. Recently she has been focusing on recovering from depression and anxiety associated with PTSD. Most recent works are mixed media and found object. They are self reflective and focus more on her internal emotional journey.

She attended the San Diego School of the Creative and Performing Arts for high school until 2010 and then attended the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.
